This spectacular collection of hand knotted Tibetan rugs by Tibet Rug Company is made by master artisan weavers in Nepal. The Tibetan weavers use century old methods to hone their craft. The entire process of weaving is done by hand- from sheering the sheep's wool, spinning and dyeing the yarn, setting up the rug loom, and hand tying each and every knot. The finished product is a unique piece of art for the floor that is durable enough to be passed down from generation to generation.
One of the best parts about buying a Tibetan rug from this collection is that you are giving back to a needy community of Tibetan refugees who fled to Nepal. These courageous people had to start over with very little. A Large portion of the proceeds from your purchase helped build and maintain the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center. schools for the children in the rural poor regions of Nepal.
Highly recommend getting a sample because this rug is not very much like the photos. It is really well made and soft underfoot and I imagine will hold up over time. However the color in the photos shows a warm cream background with rich reds and brown details. Instead the field is quite bright and the colors more on the dark pink side than red. It’s overall much brighter/lighter than I I had hoped for, so everything in my room now looks dull next to it. I kept it but it has been a hassle figuring out how to coordinate it with the other more muted shades in my earthy bedroom.
Great rug! Purchased in several colors. Never disappointed!
I love the rug, but after I purchased it, I found it for $75.00 less somewhere else. Very disappointing.
Love it!
Worth the wait - beautiful rug to finish our living room.
